Individual
Services, Inc. is a private not-for-profit community-based program
which has been providing services in central Nebraska to
persons with
developmental disabilities since 1972. MNIS's mission is to merge the
individuals
we serve into the mainstream of human experience in the areas of
personal growth, community
living, and employment.
Services are tailored through person-centered planning to match each
person's goals. Residentially, services provided are typically home
environments where 1-3 people share expenses, with staff in attendence
to offer assistance and support. Our staff provide teaching of daily
independent living skills as well as providing transportation,
assistance with
shopping and participation in community and social events.
Vocationally, services are directed toward increasing work skills and
employment in the community. Options range from sheltered employment to
work crews in factories to full-time competitive employment. Daily
transportation to work sites is provided.
MNIS, Inc.
has programs in Kearney, Oxford, Holdrege, Broken Bow, Ord, Grand
Island, Hastings and Superior.
MNIS, Inc. serves over 400 people in 22 counties in central Nebraska,
while continually looking for future expansion opportunities..
